The dreaded " SLOW SKILLS "we hear you say... ARRGGHHHHHHHHH, This seems to prove an area which bikers tend to steer away from having passed their initial DSA Test, when in fact yout can have so much fun and from experince the lads and lasses learn so much more in this type of low key and fun environment.

WHATS INVOLVED:

The course is a day long, and takes place in a controlled area at low speeds. You will be tested on your ability to operate the motorcycle, Steer correctly and maintain balance and appropriate speed while performing the following Manoeuvers:

  • Pushing the motorcycle ( Non Powered Through Cones- Forward and Reverse)
  • Using the side stand and centre stand where applicable
  • Slow straight Line Ride - using the Clutch and brakes
  • Slalom - Fig 8 plus the corridor and the dreaded question mark
  • U Turns
  • Acceleration / deceleration ( May include gear shifting)
  • Sudden stops

The Instructor & Examiner will coach you through out the day on:

  • How you handle the clutch, throttle and brake controls
  • How to shift gears
  • How to balance your weight at slow speed
  • To avoid hitting cones during the Slalom - Fig 8 and the corridor

Culminating in a set of test for all involved with Trophies and medals awarded at the end of the day.

The course and slow skills sylabus has been taken from the test you would be expected to complete and pass as a Police officer to attain the covereted Class 1 motorcycle course.
