I started riding bikes way back in 1969 at the grand old age of 4 years old, with a little auto mallagutti. Riding on a local farmers field with his son, this I guess is where my passion for bikes was born….. much to my parents horror ! 


At 9 years of age I was competing in County level moto-x competitions and soon progressed into Expert class at 15 years of age riding a Maico 490….Riding at national level. Never have I ridden something so terrifying, The Beast knew NO bounds.


For my sins I joined Her majesties Armed forces, but still managed to ride in competitions in Surrey this time on a KTM 250 when I wasn't away on active duties.


Having left the forces in 1987 I joined Bedfordshire police and became legal passing my test and the road fun began…… my headie days and the smell of Castrol in my old RD350 – pre power valve :-)


I joined the Traffic Division of Bedfordshire Police and became an advanced car driver, but opportunities presented themselves and I was soon able to attain further riding and instructor qualifications.  I qualified as an Advanced Motorcycle Instructor and spent time within the force Driving School at Bedford applying my new skills.  In addition to this I started a private company called “Buzzbikes” with a colleague which grew rapidly, training riders for their IAM & BMF tests at Advanced level. 


My involvement in motorcycling has given me the outside interest opportunities from the Police service and it has enabled me to develop my skills throughout the years.  I sit on a number of committees and I was a founder member and help instigate  better riding & helped promote Motorcycle Road Safety in Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire, which was council lead also taking an active role in Bike Safe 2000+.


I was also instrumental in the forming of  UK Advanced with a colleague from Buckinghamshire Police and assisted in the writing of an NVQ level 4 Instructors course which this company still operates. Since then I have gone onto bigger and better things reforming with another well established company called RideRight UK to become one of the south of England’s most respected Advanced Motorcycle Training organisations " TEAM UK-ADVANCED".


So when I am not at work on a bike, I am either on our track bikes at a number of circuits or out road training or off road in the Peak district.


I have never had so much fun, and yes I get paid for it too, what more could I ask for too!!


Despite being qualified in a number of areas I still strive to do more….. and more I shall do, as My dad who is my mentor and all time hero in my eyes, keeps telling me      “ You never stop learning” ….. Thanks dad, I am only 40 years of age :-)
